A Healer's Touch Walkthrough

Speak to Hanaoka

  • Travel by mount to the River Child's Wetlands and you'll find an Inn where you'll see a monk named Hanaoka sitting by the porch.
  • The inn can be found near Tsutsu Plains at the River Child's Wetlands.
  • Speak to him to begin the quest. You'll learn from the monk that there are people in the woods who are ill and that he asks for you to protect him from the bandits and Mongols.
  • After the cutscene, ride your mount and follow the monk to the refugee's camp in the woods.

Defeat the Bandits

  • Along the way, you will encounter a small group of bandits harassing some peasants. Dismount your horse to confront them. You will need to fight and kill them, so it's better to start off with a Standoff before fighting the rest of the enemies.
  • Most of them are just swordsmen, so use Stone Stance against them. After killing all of the bandits, speak to the peasants and then continue traveling with Hanaoka.

Speak with Homyo

  • When you're near, you'll see a woman calling out for Hanaoka. Speak to the woman named Homyo.
  • Head inside the house to check on her son. You'll learn that he has been poisoned. Examine the house to search for clues.
    • There's a pot of boiled water near Homyo's son.
    • A rice basket near the fireplace by the entrance.
    • Then jump out the window from the bedroom, you'll see a log where wild mushrooms are growing at the backyard.
  • Go back inside the house and speak to the monk. Now, you'll need to collect river moss to brew up an antidote.

Reach the River

  • The river is about 80m from the house. Don't forget to use Guiding Wind to identify which direction you should go to.
  • Upon reaching the river, simply gather the river moss. You'll find it growing in the middle of the river. When you have it, go back to Hanaoka and give him the moss.

Travel with Hanaoka

  • Great, you were able to help one of the villagers. Now, mount your horse and continue traveling with Hanaoka.
  • When you reach the pond, Jin will see the Mongols and he will automatically dismount his horse.
  • The pond is surrounded by tall grass, so you can take care of them by sneaking up behind them and killing them one by one, or start off by challenging them to a Standoff then killing the rest of the Mongols head-on.
  • You will encounter a variety of Mongol soldiers here such as an archer, a couple of spearmen, swordsmen, and shieldsmen.
  • Just remember that Stone Stance is best against swordsmen, Water Stance is suited against shieldsmen, and Wind Stance against spearmen.
  • Once you've defeated the group of Mongols, head back to Hanaoka and continue riding with him to the refugee camp.
  • A cutscene will automatically trigger upon reaching the camp and this will also complete this side quest.
  • You will be rewarded with Minor Legend Increase, x10 Linen, and the Charm of Divine Healing I.
