The Conspirator Walkthrough
Speak with Masako
- This quest is available after completing the side quest "The Thief".
- Open your map or journal to track the location of this side quest which is at the Kushi Graveyard.
- You'll see Masako confronting a Monk about the whereabouts of Junshin. Speak to the monk and ask about Junshin.
- Next, speak to Masako and tell her that Junshin is at the Red Leaf Temple, helping the survivors but could be in danger since the Mongols have raided it.
- After the cutscene, ride with Masako and head to the Red Leaf Temple.
- When you reach the forest section near the temple, you'll see people running away and screaming for help.
- Follow Masako and you'll encounter a group of Mongols who is about to kill one of the villagers.
- Kill the Mongol guards with Masako then head around the corner until you reach the front gate.
Get inside Red Leaf Temple
- Masako insists to attack them head-on, but Jin asks to take them out quietly or they might kill Junshin.
- Sneak behind the two Mongol guards standing by the gate and assassinate the one on the left while Masako takes care of the other one.
- If you have the Chain Assassination technique unlocked, you can kill three out of four guards inside the temple.
- Kill all of the guards around Junshin before freeing him. Once you interact with him another cutscene will trigger and Masako will try to kill him.
- You'll now have to duel against Lady Masako.
Duel with Masako
- Use Stone Stance against her.
- For her unblockable attack, you'll have time to dodge since she'll charge in like a bull. She only uses this if you're far from her.
- If you have Heavenly Strike or the Dance of Wrath techniques, use it! You can stagger and damage her at the same time.
- Another one of her unblockable attacks is a double slash. If you're near her, she will raise her katana over her head and execute an overhead attack, followed by another slash attack from below. Dodge both of these attacks!
- Other than that, time your parries right so that you can break her guard and follow up with a counterattack.
- Once you defeat her, Mongol reinforcements will arrive and you'll have to fight the Mongols with Masako. There's about three waves of enemies here.
Search for Junshin’s tracks
- After defeating all of the monks, a cutscene will automatically trigger.
- Examine the left side of the temple and you'll find Junshin's footprints.
- Follow the tracks which will lead you into the forest. You'll easily find him hiding by the rocks.
- Another cutscene will then trigger and this will also complete the side quest.
