The End of Suffering is a Side Quest in Ghost of Tsushima (GoT). Tales of Tsushima are categorized as the typical side quests of the game, these are optional where players partake through side activities of the game that advances side plots of the game. Side Quests heavily focuses on stories that revolve around NPCs encountered throughout the game. Completing a side quest rewards Jin with unique items and many more.

 

A Norio Tale (7 of 9).

Mongols are about to attack Kushi Temple. I need to protect the monks outside the temple grounds, while Norio insists he must defend the temple.

The End of Suffering Walkthrough

Reach the monks by the river

  • This side quest becomes available after completing The Cause of Suffering.
  • Open your map or journal to track the location of this side quest which is at the Kushi Temple.
  • Speak to Norio to begin this side quest. A Mongol messenger will then arrive at the temple to send a warning.
  • Immediately after the cutscene, the messenger will send out an alarm to call reinforcements and start to attack.
  • This Mongol guard is a brute type, use Moon Stance against him or throw a kunai at him to stagger him.
  • After defeating him, you'll need to reach the monks by the river who is about to be attacked by the Mongols. Norio decides to stay behind to protect the temple.
  • The location will be automatically marked on your map, ride your horse, and use the guiding wind to find the river.

Defeat the Mongols

  • When you reach the house where the Monks are, Jin will warn them about the Mongols and fire arrows will begin to rain from above.
  • Be ready to fight a group of Mongol guards that are about to arrive by the house. Eventually, Norio will arrive and help you fight the remaining Mongols.
  • Clear the area then lead the monks back to the Kushi Temple.
  • When you arrive, you'll see a couple of Mongol guards guarding the temple. Simply kill them all then speak to Norio to progress this quest.
  • Follow Norio inside the temple and a cutscene will trigger, as well as completing this side quest.
  • You'll be rewarded with the Charm of Fortitude, a Minor Legend Increase, and the Clear Summer Headband.
