The Fool is a Side Quest in Ghost of Tsushima (GoT). Tales of Tsushima are categorized as the typical side quests of the game, these are optional where players partake through side activities of the game that advances side plots of the game. Side Quests heavily focuses on stories that revolve around NPCs encountered throughout the game. Completing a side quest rewards Jin with unique items and many more.
A Masko Tale (5 of 9).
Lady Masako has gone to Umugi to look for other conspirators who killed her family. Umugi Cove is home to smugglers, ronin and thieves. The perfect hiding place for a traitor.

The Fool Walkthrough
Travel to the entrance of Umugi Cove
- This quest is available after completing the side quest "The Traitor" and completing the 1st Act of the story.
- Open your map or journal to track the location of this side quest which is at the entrance of Umugi Cove.
- You'll find Masako by the bed of red flowers near the entrance of Umugi Cove, speak to her to begin the side quest.
- After speaking to Masako, follow her up the hill and wait for the two peasants who look like Omura.
Trail the brothers
- The two men will then split up and Masako will follow the one on the left while you try to trail the one on the right.
- Make sure to keep him in your sight and use the pampas grass to hide and maneuver the cliffs. If you've been seen, you'll have to start again.
- You'll eventually reach the canyon of Umugi Cove and he'll have an argument with a merchant. Continue following him and eventually, you'll see Masako who's on a rock overlooking the house that the guy just entered.
Defeat the bandits
- Next, get closer to the house to listen to their conversation.
- Keep your distance and continue trailing the brothers. Stay under the bridge, use the barrels as cover and hide by the pampas grass.
- You'll then reach a meeting point where they make a negotiation with the bandits. Eventually, they are killed by the bandits.
- Masako then fights them head-on, you can either join her in fighting or from where you are standing, you can ready your bow and shoot them down.
- Simply kill all the bandits and loot their bodies to find any clues. You and Masako will then find a letter that bears the same symbol that you've found previously at the Bandit's hideout.
- A cutscene will then trigger after finding the letters and you'll also complete this side quest.
