The Headman is a Side Quest in Ghost of Tsushima (GoT). Tales of Tsushima are categorized as the typical side quests of the game, these are optional where players partake through side activities of the game that advances side plots of the game. Side Quests heavily focuses on stories that revolve around NPCs encountered throughout the game. Completing a side quest rewards Jin with unique items and many more.

Clan Adachi was betrayed by a conspiracy. Lady Masako lives only to destroy those responsible for her family’s slaughter. Anyone who dares prey on a samurai family must be brough to justice, so I have agreed to join her hunt.

The Headman Walkthrough
Speak to Lady Masako
- This side quest becomes available after completing The Tale of Lady Masako.
- Open your Journal in the menu and track the tale to mark the location of the first objective.
- Travel by mount or use Fast Travel to the Golden Temple. You'll find Masako there, speak to her to start the quest.
- After the cutscene, follow Masako outside the temple to search for Hachi and you'll eventually reach Hachi's cart.
Tail Hachi’s Cart
- You'll need to follow Hachi's cart undetected. Make sure you are crouched while you are following him and use the tall grass to hide.
- He will occasionally stop to look back, so keep an eye out for that. When you reach the checkpoint, follow Masako behind a log to eavesdrop.
- Next, ignore Hachi's wagon, and this time follow the men on horseback. Again, you must hide and avoid being seen while you are following them.
- You will reach a house where the horsemen stop riding, approach Masako who's hiding behind a rock, and speak to her.
Search for Sadao
- Now, you will need to look for Sadao. But in order to do so, you will need to defeat the Mongol enemies around the area.
- The majority of the enemies you'll face here are swordsmen, a couple of spearsmen and shieldsmen.
- If you are facing the swordsmen, use Stone Stance. If you are fighting the shieldsmen, use Water Stance.
- Assuming that you haven't unlocked the Wind Stance yet which is suited against spearsmen, use your bow to damage them from afar. Or possibly kill them with one shot at the head.
- After clearing the enemies, speak to Masako then enter the house.
- You'll find resources here that you can collect and a letter from Sadao.
- Speak to Hina, Sadao's wife to complete this quest.
