The Spirit of Yarikawa’s Vengeance is a Mythic Tale in Ghost of Tsushima (GoT). Mythic Tales are optional mini side-quests provided by the locals, these quests are identified with a blue marker where Jin listens to stories and tales about legendary warriors as well as historical information about the island. Completing a Mythic Tale rewards players with unique various rewards.

The Spirit of Yarikawa’s Vengeance Walkthrough
Find the musician in Yarikawa
- To find the musician, head west of Revel's Last Stand. You'll find him across the bridge along with a group of peasants.
- Speak to him and listen to the tale about the Spirit of Yarikawa and his vengeance.
Search Old Yarikawa for white smoke
- After listening to the tale, check the map and you'll notice a large search zone is now encircled.
- Mark the northwest area of the search zone and head towards this you'll find a white smoke next to a bridge.
- Read the scroll next to where the smoke is and look for the Mongol Camp.
Search for the Mongol camp along the river
- The Mongol Camp is located southwest within the zone.
- Upon arriving, you'll see that the campsite is on fire. Search the campsite for clues and you'll hear a prisoner cry out for help.
- Free the prisoner and speak to him to trigger a cutscene.
Search Old Yarikawa for white smoke
- After the cutscene, continue your search for the white smoke. This time, mark the south-west area of the search zone to find the next smoke.
- You'll come across a "Survivor Camp" collect the scroll and head to the refugee camp nearby.
- Upon arriving, speak to the male peasant to trigger another cutscene.
Follow Heitaro
- Follow Heitaro to the hill located at the southeast side and you'll find a grave.
- After the cutscene, you'll continue your search for the white smoke.

- Back at the search zone, mark the center of the circle to find the next spot.
- When you reach the offering table, you'll see that there isn't any scroll on it and you'll hear blades clashing.
- Follow the sounds of combat and head west where you'll see a house. Climb down the cliff and head towards the house.
Search for the spirit
- Investigate the house and circle around it from the right side. You'll find an opening below that Jin can crawl into.
- Inside the house, examine the banner, offerings, the scrolls, and the helmet.
- Make sure to check the house to gather Resources.
- Head back outside and look for the last offering.

- To look for the last offering, open your map and mark the northern edge of the search zone to find the spot.
- Upon arriving, pick up the scroll and read it. You'll obtain the next objective which is to head to the Garden of the Gods.
Travel to the Garden of the Gods
- The Garden of the Gods will be automatically marked. Use Guiding Wind for it to point you in the right direction. You could also learn more about it from the villagers that are along the way, speak to them and they'll tell Jin what they know.
- You'll be able to identify when you are at the right spot when you see a field of white flowers and the God statues. You can also see from afar the white smoke.
- Head to where the smoke is, collect the offering and read the scroll. Another cutscene will then trigger after reading it.
Duel the spirit
- Another duel will then begin against The Spirit of Yarikawa.
- It is recommended that you equip an armor that has high melee damage and high resistance to damage or grants high health.
- Take advantage of dodging and to counterattack her unblockable attacks.
- You can also use Heavenly Strike this time since you already have learned this technique.
- Just when you are about to defeat her, the game prompts you to use the Dance of Wrath technique.
- Press the L1 + R1 buttons to unleash the Dance of Wrath as a finishing blow.
- Successfully defeating her will complete this mythic tale and rewards Jin with the Dance of Wrath technique the Omukade's Revenge Sword Kit, and Moderate Legend Increase.
