Caretakers of the Eagle is a Side Quest in Ghost of Tsushima (GoT) and an exclusive quest in the Iki Island Expansion. Tales of Iki are categorized as the typical side quests of the game, these are optional where players partake through side activities of the game that advances side plots of the game. Side Quests heavily focuses on stories that revolve around NPCs encountered throughout the game. Completing a side quest rewards Jin with unique items and many more.

Take a Scan at the Viewpoint

• Head up the hill from the road to Ito's left, where you will eventually come to an Panoramic Viewpoint. Interact with the viewpoint to gaze upon the temple.
• Follow the circular indicator to view the area set-up with tents, the temple guard situated outside, and the cart next to the temple.

Gather Intel Regarding the Caretakers

• Exiting from the viewpoint will trigger your character to assume the form of a caretaker, camouflaging into the crowd.
• In your disguise, approach and talk to the warden in front of the main temple structure
• Now go down the stairs to speak to the woman holding a baby.
• Lastly, chat with the man in front of .the house to the left of the woman.

Snoop On the Conversation Coming from Inside the House

• Sneak behind the corner of the house and eavesdrop on the people inside from the hole below the house.

Return to the Campfire and Wait Patiently

• Travel back the same way from which you came, and patiently wait by the campfire for everyone at the temple to go to sleep.

Release the Captive Villagers

• Now return to the house from before, and sneak into the house by crawling through the holes around it. Free the villagers once you break in, and prepare for Mongols to start spawning around the temple.
• Exit the house and keep and eye on all Mongols that you encounter - pay extra attention to those with a red skull marking on their head, as that indicates that they are about to execute a captive. Prioritize those with a red skull to prevent villagers from being killed, then quickly dispatch of any other enemies you encounter.
• The next captive is Ito - he is found in the small hut adjacent to the house
• The final villager is Ito's brother, Toukichi, who is held captive just outside of the hut where Ito was found, next to the campfire.

Rid the Temple of Enemies

• Return to the main temple building, and eliminate all enemies spawned there.

Walk in from the Side Entrance

• From the side entrance, enter into the temple.

Soothe Zenshin from the Poison

• Clear out the last two enemies inside, and you shall find Zenshin the Monk lying there helplessly.
• Interact with him to speak to him. You will find out that the Eagle has already poisoned him.
• Calm him from the effects of the poison by playing tunes on the flute for him to complete the quest.
