A Father's Choice is a Side Quest in Ghost of Tsushima (GoT). Tales of Tsushima are categorized as the typical side quests of the game, these are optional where players partake through side activities of the game that advances side plots of the game. Side Quests heavily focuses on stories that revolve around NPCs encountered throughout the game. Completing a side quest rewards Jin with unique items and many more.

A Father's Choice Walkthrough

Track the Mongols

  • This quest can be obtained from a peasant at the Jogaku Temple. But the main quest Honor and Ash must be completed first.
  • The area of the side quest is located at the Deep Forest Lake. Fast Travel to Bitter Hills Garrison and travel by mount to the tracked location.
  • When you arrive at the start of the side quest, you'll find yourself at a house and a grieving man. Speak to him to begin the quest.
  • You'll learn that the Mongols caught his son's wagons and killed one of them, while the other, named Chuta was captured.
  • After speaking to the man, you'll find tracks near the bridge. Follow it and it will lead you to a homestead.

Search for Chuta

  • Upon arriving at the homestead, be ready to sneak in and assassinate as much as Mongols as you can.
  • You need to clear out the area before you can rescue and free Chuta who's inside the house.
  • After freeing him, return to the grieving father and speak to him. When you arrive, you won't find him and more Mongol guards will arrive.
  • Kill the Mongols, then approach the tree outside with a body that's hanging. You'll find the father's note that's left for Chuta.
  • Track the father and follow his footprints which will lead you to a cliff where you'll find that the father committed suicide due to his guilt.
