The Blood Sutra is a Side Quest in Ghost of Tsushima (GoT). Tales of Tsushima are categorized as the typical side quests of the game, these are optional where players partake through side activities of the game that advances side plots of the game. Side Quests heavily focuses on stories that revolve around NPCs encountered throughout the game. Completing a side quest rewards Jin with unique items and many more.

The abbot of the temple was preaching resistance to the Mongols. Norio and I must find him, or Kushi Temple will fall.

The Blood Sutra Walkthrough

Reach Koshimizu Farm with Norio

This side quest becomes available after completing The Birth of Suffering.
Open your map or journal to track the location of this side quest which is at the Kushi Temple.
After the cutscene, ride with Norio to the Koshimizu Farm where Jin will see smoke coming from the farm.
When you arrive, examine the area to search for clues. You'll find the dead bodies near the farm, two barrels, a straw bedding, and a window behind the barrels.

Defeat the Mongols

Jump outside the window and you'll find tracks that will lead you to path going up and eventually, you'll come across a group of Mongols.
Kill the Mongol guards then investigate the cliff where you'll see blood. Norio will mention that one of the monks jumped from the cliff into the water.
Jump down then check behind the waterfall, there's a gap that you can squeeze into to reach a cave. You'll find the monk who's dead, interact with the body, and a cutscene will trigger - this will complete the side quest.
You'll be rewarded with the Charm of Resistance II, a Minor Legend Increase, and x2 Silk.
