Ghost of Tsushima Game Progress Route

It's recommended that you start off with The Warrior's Code main quest as soon as you hop into the open world. This way, you can easily obtain the Assassination and Focused Hearing technique. Second, is to complete The Tale of Sensei Ishikawa, you will be rewarded with the Half Bow and Archery technique, this way, you have early access to using a ranged weapon.

After you've completed the Iron Hook, make sure to finish the Mythic Tales that are available in this region such as, The Heavenly Strike, The Curse of Uchitsune, and The Legend of Tadayori. These are found if you're lucky, through exploration. But it is recommended for you to speak to the townspeople of settlements, especially at the Golden Temple. They will tell you rumors regarding the location of a musician who tells the story of these legendary tales.

For the second act, Jin is tasked to slowly liberate Mongol territories to thin out their settlements and to eventually retake Caste Shimura alongside Lord Shimura. Players should complete A New Horizon so that the Ghosts from the Past quest is unlocked. In that main quest, players can obtain the Sakai Clan Armor.

You will be fighting a lot here when you complete the main quests listed under the second act. Especially when you start the questline of Yarikawa and once you begin liberating Castle Shimura. Partake in side quests and complete the mythic tales available such as The Six Blades of Kojiro, The Unbreakable Gosaku, and The Spirit of Yarikawa's Vengeance. Try to increase Jin's Legend Rank and upgrade your gear before reaching A Reckoning in Blood.

The third and final act of the game. This is where Jin plans the attack towards the Mongol forces and to take out Khotun Khan. There are a couple of side quests here that is recommended for you to finish in order to increase Jin's Legend Rank and to fully upgrade his weapons and armor. As for the Mythic Tale, there is only one available here which is The Undying Flame. Speak to the townspeople on Jogaku Temple to obtain information regarding the location of the musician. It is best that you complete this to acquire the Way of the Flame technique which can help you in the long battles you'll encounter.

When you reach the last quest which is "The Tale of Lord Shimura" there are two ways in ending this game. As cliche as it may sound, you will have to choose the path of the Samurai or embrace the path of the Ghost. Both choices will end differently, but whichever choice you select will have zero impact on the trophies you earn, completion tasks, collectibles, etc. You will still get 100% completion rate after once you've completed the story.

However, upon finishing your first playthrough. If you wish to play again, you will have to start from scratch. Literally... Currently, there is no NG+ in Ghost of Tsushima (GoT). But it may be added later on in future patches. So if you decide on playing the game the second time around, all your progression will be lost such as unlocked techniques, stances, equipment, and you will have to reacquire everything again.
